Good opportunity in automotive repair business

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Garage-based franchises and mobile repair franchises are the two broad categories of the automotive repair franchise business. Mobile repair franchise involves small repairs of areas like windscreens, minor dents on the car, body scratches, plastic bumpers, chips and alloy wheels. It also involves fixing engine troubles and is operated by mobile mechanics in a van based at their home or an office. Body shop repairs turn out to be expensive when compared to mobile repair franchises.

The other broad category is the garage-based franchise, which involves repairing some of the important parts of the car like the area under the bonnet, clutch, horn, gear system and brakes. If the problem cannot be solved by repairing then spare parts are installed whenever required.

You require more knowledge and experience in a garage based franchise as compared to a mobile franchise. However, both garage and mobile franchisees require a good knowledge of cars and technical parts of the cars such as the engine.

In order to run the business or the franchisees effectively and efficiently, proper training is provided by the franchisors. If entrepreneurs have a keen interest in an automotive repair business then it is a good opportunity for them.
