Ron and Shirley Maynard have supplied Card Connection’s extensive range of high quality greetings cards and accessories to retailers in their Oxford and Banbury territory for the past 18 years.

“There are an estimated 40,000 franchisees in the UK and just 17 finalists made it through to the HSBC Franchisee of the Year Awards which were held at a black-tie gala dinner in Birmingham last week,” explained Michael Johnson, Managing Director of Card Connection. “We are delighted that Ron and Shirley Maynard’s achievements have ‘stood out from the crowd’ to be recognised as winners of the Micro-business award in this way.”

“Ron and Shirley are highly respected by everyone in our network,” continued Johnson. “They maintain exceptionally high standards within their franchise which I believe is a significant reason for their success over the years. One couldn’t wish for more dedicated, professional and conscientious franchisees therefore, this award is a testament to the continued hard work and effort they have put in to build their franchise business over the long term.”

Ron and Shirley Maynard have just signed a further five-year franchise contract with Card Connection, to continue to supply greeting cards and accessories in retail outlets on a ‘consignment’ basis.

Card Connection was the only organisation with finalists named in more than one category for the BFA awards which recognise franchisees who have demonstrated exceptional business practice in their area of expertise. Martin Rolfe, a Card Connection franchisee of 20 years, was a finalist for the Long Serving Franchisee award.
