Cash Converters Announced as Title Sponsor of PDC World Cup of Darts

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has announced Cash Converters, the UK’s number one retailer of pre-owned goods and financial services provider, as title sponsor of its inaugural World Cup of Darts.

The Cash Converters World Cup of Darts will be held at the Rainton Meadows Arena in Houghton-Le-Spring, Tyne & Wear from December 3-5 and screened live on Sky Sports HD. A total of 24 nations will compete in The Cash Converters PDC World Cup, which offers a first prize of £40,000 to the winning two-player team in the event.

"It gives us great pleasure to welcome Cash Converters as the title sponsor for The World Cup of Darts," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn. "This tournament promises to be a festival of darts as players from around the darting world come together to compete over three days. "

"It will be a wonderful showcase for emerging darting talent from around the world, with countries such as Russia, Japan, Spain and New Zealand challenging some of the most established players in darts, like Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld and John Part."

Cash Converters’ sponsorship of the tournament comes as the company fast approaches 600 stores worldwide, with over 170 of these in the UK.

Chief executive of Cash Converters UK, David Patrick, said: “Cash Converters is delighted to be title sponsor of the PDC World Cup of Darts. We recognise that the grassroots popularity of darts is a perfect fit for our brand and we are pleased to invest in this prestigious event as the sport continues to grow and welcome new fans."

“As we expand as a company it is important that we maximise the opportunities to engage with our customers and darts is certainly a sport popular with both our customers and staff alike.”
