Castle and Pryor has been in business since 1991 and in that time we have trained, certified and qualified over hundreds of employees. Understanding the importance and demand for highly competent and qualified staff within our industry is at the forefront and personal ethos of Castle and Pryor, as such we were especially chosen to work with the CITB (Construction Industry Trade Board) to formulate the nationally recognised qualification in Concrete Drilling and Sawing for the NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) level 2.
At Castle and Pryor our franchisees receive a comprehensive induction that covers everything required to run a diamond drilling business - from operational instruction on how to drill a hole using diamond cores, while working towards achieving a CITB NVQ level 2, through to finance management, operations, sales and marketing training.
Over an initial two-week period, your training will focus on both the practical and technical elements of running a franchise diamond drilling business. Within the construction industry health and safety are paramount to all projects. Your training will focus on a mix of classroom teaching on the theory of diamond drilling along with practical training on the workshop floor with our management team, leading to an NVQ level 2 in Concrete Drilling and Sawing.
This will include learning how to set up the drilling stand, attach the drill and fit the diamond core drill piece, when and how to deploy angled drilling techniques, how to price drilling projects and most importantly how to protect yourself, your staff and the people around you using the appropriate and correct health and safety standards. After the fun stuff is complete you will move on to head office.
After operational training we start your business management instruction which will include managing your financials accounts. The Castle and Pryor finance team will familiarise you with your own cloud-based accounts systems, which is incredibly easy to use and is widely employed by many small business globally. The finance training section will cover setting up new customer and suppliers, purchase order processing and managing your cash flow, this is particularly important in running your business. You will learn how to process sales orders, create invoices and chase debtors, to name but a few financial functions, after this you will realise ‘maths can be fun’!
To satisfy creative needs, we have set up a comprehensive marketing and sales approach for generating leads and delivering successful marketing activities, where we will show you how to write your own marketing and sales plan, including a competitor analysis in a pre-designed template, easy to complete and useful to implement throughout your franchise tenure.
In the first six months, our marketing and sales team will provide you with a marketing launch campaign that will consist of press releases, mailers, collateral, stationery and uniform. Alongside this the team will support you with internet and social media marketing, sharing their best practice and promoting your region.
Within marketing and sales one of the biggest challenges to any business is making sales and creating the leads to turn into revenue. At Castle and Pryor, we have developed a database of several thousand contacts built up since 1991, including both companies and individuals, so that it’s not just what you know, but also who you know, through Castle and Pryor.
