Domino’s Reports Record-Breaking Year For New Store Launches

The franchise pizza delivery group Domino's have released a report marking 2012 as a record for new store openings. The network now operates over 10,000 stores across 73 countries and in 2012 alone, they launched 57 new sites across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Compared to 2011, they have expanded across all territories including Germany and Switzerland, growing from 62 to 69 in 2012.

The pizza franchise that is sold for £280,000 per site, recorded significant growth in product sales in 2012, with system sales achieving a 12.7% rise to £598.6m from £531m in 2011.

Domino’s franchise owners recognised particularly strong sales during the Christmas period in 2012, reaching sales of £17.5m, a 20% increase upon sales in 2011.

Lance Batchelor, Chief Executive of Domino’s Pizza Group PLC, attributes the growing sales figures to the way in which franchise owners “continue to drive their businesses forward, splitting territories to capitalise on potential sales and winning market share using a wide variety of sales and marketing initiatives".

Batchelor added: “Our franchise owners are, and always will be, the heart of this business.”
