FootieBugs Hosts Golf Day In Aid Of Prostate Cancer UK
In November last year, FootieBugs was delighted to host a golf day in support of Prostate Cancer UK. The event took place at Astbury Hall Golf Club in Shropshire, home to the Judas Priest guitarist Ken Downing. Despite the weather, the day was a total success raising a large four-figure sum for the charity. The FootieBugs HQ staff were delighted that their franchisee for Worcester, Dean Rutter, was among the prize winners on the day.
Rutter found himself in good company playing in the same team as the scorer of the winning goal in the 1981 European Cup Final, Peter Withe. Peter Withe was one of many big names who attended the day, others included former Manchester City and England international Darius Vassell, Leeds United and Ireland keeper Paddy Kenny and former Aston Villa and Derby County stalwart Mark Draper.
After an enjoyable round of golf, the players were treated to a slap up meal and participated in an auction and raffle to raise further funds for Prostate Cancer UK. The prizes were handed out by former England international, FootieBugs Technical Director Lee Hendrie. The day was a complete success and FootieBugs is already looking forward to their next one, in support of Cure Leukaemia, coming up in April.
