Franchisee of the year awarded to York photographer
The British Franchise Association awarded photographer Angie Baynes, 27, of York, the Franchisee of the Year in a ceremony at The International Convention Centre at Birmingham. The awards celebrate the success of the best performing franchisees in the UK. Angie began her career working in her father’s photography studio in Micklegate when she was 18 years old. After her father retired, she opened up two more studios in Hull city centre and York with a full diary of appointments.
Five years down the line, she has managed to establish a two million pound turnover for her very own Venture Studios franchise. The theme of this year’s awards was “managed change” and Angie won the award by impressing the judging panel by demonstrating her capabilities.
When she saw the qualities of other finalists, she was not very hopeful of winning the award at all. However she was proved wrong and won the gold winner for franchisee of the year based on enthusiasm, her products, her passion for her brands and staff.
The head of franchising for HSBC Bank, Cathryn Hayes who sponsored the event, was simply amazed by the level of commitment and hard work that Angie has put in to her franchisee ability. With the success of the many franchisees, the franchise industry has added to the economy a whooping 12.4 billion pounds now.
