Freedom Enjoys Continued Success
The Freedom Travel Group is enjoying one of its most successful years to-date, the consortium has announced.
Managing Director Jane Atkins said she was hugely encouraged by trading. “Despite the economic downturn and the gloomy outlook for the travel industry, our members have continued to perform well,” she said.
Atkins believes that much of this can be put down to the benefits on offer from Freedom Travel: “Being part of The Co-operative Travel is vital, as it brings greater buying power, as well as ABTA and ATOL bonding. We also benefit from the trust that customers have in The Co-operative brand, which is priceless at a time when holidaymakers have concerns over the safety of their money following the collapse of some tour operators.
“Our front and back office systems are also integral to agents’ success, as are our training and the technical helpdesk. Monthly commission payments are popular – as are reduced teletext rates – but it is the unrivalled combination of these elements that really delivers for our members.”
Atkins also said that the re-brand as The Freedom Travel Group in February had sparked a renewed interest in the consortium: “In deciding that we were going to re-brand we went back to basics in an attempt to really identify what the brand stands for. In discussion with our members and our support functions, we found that our core values are security, value, professionalism, human and community spirit.
“We have found that in the months since the re-brand existing and new members really identify with our values and want to be a part of what we are trying to achieve.”
