Granite Transformations Teams Up With Flying Fitters
Currently consumer expenditure on kitchen installations continues to flatline throughout this time of economic uncertainty and, because of this, Granite Transformations' franchisees are understandably reluctant to increase headcount. However they have proven they still are surprisingly a recession proof product with their outstanding granite and glass replacement worktops. The international brand has a reputation for its high quality and professional craftsmanship and offers and exceptional lifetime warranty for worktop fittings so Granite Transformations are fearful of contracting out any of their work to those who have not been fully manufacturer trained.
With the rise of made-to-measure kitchen doors and glass mosaic splashbacks, the UK franchisor RSG Europe has come up with a novel solution in the form of a centrally managed team of Flying Fitters. Recruited and trained at RSG’s Tunbridge Wells headquarters, the team of worktop, replacement door and tiling specialists will be available to travel nationwide, covering any shortfalls in franchise owners skilled manpower resources and undertaking a complete range of work to the required standards, including handling the necessary paperwork. Each Flying Fitter will arrive at the customer premises in a Granite Transformations-liveried van, equipped with all the materials and tools for the job in hand.
This temporary staffing initiative means Granite Transformations showrooms need never turn away lucrative work when their own installations people are overstretched and can therefore delay recruiting permanent fitters until the market recovers. It forms part of RSG’s franchise support programme and, with a dozen new operations added to the UK network this year; it enables Granite franchisees to build their businesses without over-extending themselves financially.
“We are a franchise operation and that means each of our Granite Transformations retail territories is a self-owned business that needs to balance its books and plan for growth without exposing themselves to undue risk,” said RSG Chief Operating Officer, Danny Hanlon. “With lucrative new revenue opportunities like our glass mosaic tiles for kitchens and bathrooms, we shouldn’t like to see our business partners missing out, simply because they don’t want to increase headcount when we’re still not out of the economic woods.
“Equally, our worldwide reputation is built around the quality of our installations and we don’t want to let our brand equity become undermined by work that is less than first-class,” he added. “Besides, much of our franchise owners businesses come from word-of-mouth recommendations and client referrals, so GT Flying Fitters should ensure complete customer satisfaction and help leverage extra work for our franchisees.”
