Healthy food franchise founder wins Acorn award
Founder of the healthy eating franchise, Tossed, Vincent McKevitt was recently selected as one of thirty individuals who stand for the UK’s best rising talent in the hospitality industry. The honour was released through Caterer and Hotelkeeper, a catering trade publication’s 2009 Acorn Award.
In order to celebrate the most impressive young talent, Caterer and Hotelkeeper named thirty individuals from the sector who are under the age of 30 who have made a name for themselves in the previous year. Previously, the awards have gone to Marcus Wearing, Gary Rhodes and Pierre White who have gone on to become celebrity chefs. Vincent has also been selected as the ‘one to watch’ in the Future 500 list in The Observer newspaper.
Tossed has been opened in seven different locations and two of these have been franchised. The fast casual eating franchise specialises in salads that are freshly tossed-to-order, soups, wraps and nutritionally balanced, healthy, freshly made foods. The franchise greatly emphasises indulgence that is healthy.
When he received his award at a ceremony that was held in Gloucestershire, Vincent said that it was a wonderful feeling to meet so many individuals who are shaping and have shaped the way people eat and to be recognised in the industry.
