Highest Quality Of Care Ensured By Right At Home
Right at Home, one of the world’s most trusted franchise care companies, has become the first care provider in the UK to launch a City & Guilds accredited Care Certificate, in partnership with Affinity Training. This will ensure all Caregivers across its network will be trained to an exceptional level of Care Quality Commission compliance.
All care providers have been given six months from April 1, 2015 to implement the Care Certificate into their Induction Training. Under the Care Certificate requirements, individual carers must clearly evidence that they have competently met 15 specific Standards; that they have been assessed for their skills, knowledge and behaviour; that their behaviour has been caring and compassionate in order that the care they have delivered has been of a consistently high quality.
Care providers must show that they have delivered the appropriate training, maintained records of evidence and assessment, and ensured that all assessment decisions are auditable. A Care Certificate will only be awarded once all 15 areas have been met to the required standards.
“The introduction of our City & Guilds accredited Care Certificate is another example of Right at Home’s commitment to supporting franchisees to maintain an outstanding level of Care Quality Commission compliance,” explained Ben Selby, Right at Home’s newly appointed UK Head of Compliance.
“We are the first care provider in the UK to implement the Care Certificate. We see it as an excellent opportunity to build a new first class learning platform to ensure that all Right at Home Caregivers are trained to a very high standard.
“We pride ourselves on ensuring all our franchisees are given the very best tools, information and resources so they can deliver the best quality care. We welcome the fact that the Care Certificate will require all care providers to show much greater commitment to training their staff to high standards and promoting their clients’ overall well-being.”
Right at Home UK Managing Director Ken Deary added: “We fully support the introduction of the Care Certificate. To us, caring for vulnerable adults and seniors involves much more than simply completing tasks – it centres on choice, compassion, dignity and respect; and of ensuring that each individual can decide how they would like to be supported.
“At Right at Home we significantly surpass the required national minimum standards and pride ourselves on exceeding usual expectations in our care delivery.”
