The BFA gears up to crown the UK’s best performing franchisees

And the search still goes on for the best performing franchisees in the UK, who will be acknowledged with the newly launched annual British Franchise Association’s (BFA) Franchise of the Year Awards. The Award ceremony will be sponsored by HSBC Bank and Express Newspapers.

A majority of the people in the UK today prefer a franchise business to a non-franchised business, in response to the growing popularity of the industry today standing at an annual worth of £12.4 billion of the British economy.

The panel of judges is on the verge of completion of their hunt for the franchisees in the UK who have outshined their competitors and have excelled at ‘Managing Challenge’, which happens to be the theme of the Award ceremony. The black-tie event would take place during National Franchise Week in Birmingham at the International Convention Centre, on a grand scale. The winner would be awarded a cash prize of £5,000, whilst the two runners-up would walk away with cash prizes of £3,000 and £2,000 respectively.

According to Brian Smart, the Director General of the BFA,

“These prestigious Awards recognise the UK’s leading franchisees and how their focus and drive, when supplemented by the support of a franchisor, grows sustainable, powerful businesses. This year we are looking for examples of the franchise model that demonstrate the fusion of a franchisor driven to build and support a network and franchisees who are committed to developing their own business.”
