The growing numbers of women in franchising

Owning a franchise is the best way to start a business. It has become a trend as many people choose to buy franchises over starting independent businesses. The main reason why franchises are popular is that they possess an established business model. Franchises are available in all segments of industry.

One of the most famous franchises in the UK is Popstars Academy. This franchise is grabbing a lot of attention lately in the press and it seems that a high percentage of franchisees have been women who have been very impressed with the diversity, versatility and support on offer. The British Franchise Association (BFA) said in 2003, that women constituted 27% of all franchises. Out of which 34 % were new recruits compared to 24% and 31% in the year 2003.

With the popularity of shows like the X- Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, Popstars Academy is gaining a lot of business. Popstars Academy is a franchise that organises parties, dance classes and events for kids of the ages 4-11. Popstars Academy started as a business in 2003. However, its franchise was launched in 2007. Jo Franks, the co-founder of Popstars Academy, said that it is the perfect opportunity for family people.
