Ugly Bug World is a business committed to helping children and young people grow in mind, body and spirit which has operated since its 2003 launch in the West Midlands.

How We Do It

Ugly Bug World has resources for curricular, extra-curricular and holiday activities inspired by art, music, sport, dance, drama, media and outdoor adventure. Delivered in varying formats whether lesson based, for after school clubs, multi activity and specialised camps, theme days or workshops with a diverse client base which includes local authorities, schools, children's trusts, as well as voluntary, community and private groups.

Building A Business

Ugly Bug World designs and delivers an innovative and comprehensive range of structured activity and issue based programmes that encourage children and young people to develop as individuals.

As a franchise owner you will be allocated an exclusive territory and provided with a 'Tool Kit' for you to grow your business and achieve your target earnings. The objective of the franchised business will be to sell and deliver structured activity and issue-based programmes. Sales will be achieved through a combination of marketing and networking activities. Delivery will be based upon templates and other programme materials written and supplied by the Franchisor providing a broad business model and optimum potential for several strands of revenue.

Are You Who We're Looking For?

The Ugly Bug World franchise is suitable for an individual or a partnership that enjoys an affinity for sport and/or the creative arts. These maybe people wishing to set up their own business or key people already working within a child centred setting who understands the benefit of using Ugly Bug World programmes as a tool for delivery to meet their organisations outcomes. Regardless of background the franchise owner must provide a combination of sales, presentational and administrative skills that will be necessary for launching and developing the Ugly Bug World business at local level. It will also be necessary to sub-contract others (artists, actors, sports coaches, etc.) to deliver, or assist with delivery of, the activity programmes.

Potential franchise owners will require prior experience in education, sports and/or creative arts. They must also demonstrate that they have excellent communication and management skills and show they are committed to their own continued professional development. Above all, franchise owners must have a genuine commitment for children and young people and their issues. Furthermore, a drive to succeed in running their own business, to maintain professional standards and be prepared to direct their whole energy to the development of the Ugly Bug World brand in their local territory is paramount.
