VIP Bin Cleaning Wins Zloty Gold Medal 2014

VIP Bin Cleaning, the environmentally friendly waste container cleaning specialists, recently attended the Poleko International Trade Fair of Municipal Technologies KOMTECHNIKA 2014 in Poland. A new legal requirement has been introduced in Poland this year, which demands that all municipalities and waste management companies provide a professional cleaning programme for all of their waste containers. VIP identified this exhibition as the ideal opportunity to present the company, meet with potential clients and demonstrate the services and support that VIP can offer. The company also attended the exhibition in order to gain feedback from potential clients.

VIP Bin Cleaning has been established in the UK since 1997 and has evolved from a domestic wheelie bin cleaning company to now being recognised as the world’s leading waste container cleaning specialists. VIP is able to clean all types and sizes of bins and waste containers, both in the commercial and domestic sectors. The systems, processes and support structures that VIP has implemented, along with the knowledge that has been accrued over 18 years in the industry and its recognisable brand; VIP Bin Cleaning is in a very strong position. The company and its franchisees are able to work with nearly all types of customers to ensure that their cleaning requirements are delivered professionally, in accordance with any regulations and to assist clients with any problems that may arise.

The company has franchisees across the UK as well as Master Licence holders and operations covering Australia, South Africa, California, Canada, Botswana and Poland. One of the major strengths of VIP is that, by having franchisees in different countries, they are able to learn from each other and share knowledge, which in turn, helps the development of the business both nationally and internationally.

Along with an international network, VIP also designs and manufactures its own professional and environmentally friendly cleaning machinery. This machinery ranges from manual, semi-automatic, automatic and automatic computer-aided cleaning systems. All of these systems can be adapted and be built into mobile trailers or mounted on pick-up vehicles. Also, they can be adapted to suit the needs of clients who require on-site static cleaning systems. All of this machinery will be manufactured in accordance with BSI, ISO Standards and CE approval, along with the quality assurance and accreditations that you would associate with VIP Bin Cleaning.

VIP exhibited some of this machinery at the exhibition in Poland, which included a manual mobile cleaning unit and a larger semi-automatic commercial mobile cleaning unit. Both of these machines are already being used for contracts in Poland. These were not the only machines that VIP exhibited; the company also brought over from the UK their newly designed and manufactured automatic vehicle based cleaning unit.

VIP Bin Cleaning received incredibly positive feedback, which culminated in their new automatic vehicle-based cleaning unit winning the Zloty Gold Medal 2014. This prestigious award is presented to a company that can demonstrate innovation and product excellence in regard to environmental best practices. The winner of this award is selected by an expert panel of judges and is chosen from almost 500 products from various companies attending the trade fair. This award is a symbol of significant accomplishment, which is recognised by the State, local authorities, professional associations, businesses and the media. The strength and importance of this award is demonstrated by the knowledge that the Zloty Gold Medal winners of 2013 were mentioned in more than 2500 publications.

The Zloty Gold Medal 2014 was presented to Tomasz Borkowski and Mark Harvey at the opening ceremony of the Trade Fair on Tuesday 14th October 2014 by:

The Minister of Environment in Poland - Dr. Maciej Grabowski
The President of the International Poznan Fair - Dr. Andrzej Byrt
The Chairman of the Jury - Mr. Professor. dr hab. Eng. Marek Sozański (Poznan University of Technology, Institute of Environmental Engineering)

The award ceremony was broadcasted on Polish television and the VIP machinery was filmed by a Polish television news programme and will also be screened on the Polish version of The Gadget Show.

It has now become apparent that attending this exhibition was one of the most important decisions that the company has made. The information and experience obtained from meetings held with municipalities and waste management companies, along with the publicity the company will receive through winning the award, will inevitably become invaluable to the business and its franchisees. It will also add tremendous value to VIP Bin Cleaning’s brand and reputation.

VIP has already completed municipality/council contracts in the UK and these are similar to those acquired in Poland. Below is an example of some of the work recently undertaken for Islington Council together with some feedback:

VIP Bin Cleaning Limited undertook a programme of cleaning 700 x 240 litre food waste wheelie bins located on estates within Islington. The work was undertaken to a high standard within our agreed time frame. The programme went smoothly which was due to the good communications between all parties before and during the works. The food waste collection crew commented that the work undertaken was to a good standard.

Even in countries where it is not yet a legal requirement to have waste containers cleaned, VIP is still witnessing a surge of interest in the company, its products and its services. Now that Poland and some other Eastern European countries have made it a legal requirement, it is possible that other countries may also enforce this law. This gives VIP and its franchisees a golden opportunity to develop their business, which may then result in some of the single unit franchisees expanding into multi vehicle operations. VIP Bin Cleaning is also becoming an ever more attractive proposition for single unit franchisees. However, it also opens up the market to potential area development franchisees that are interested and keen to develop the business over a larger geographical area.
