Meet Toni Leci
Experienced hairdresser Tony Leci opened Rush’s 71st salon on Saturday 10 October 2015, with his new location in Wandsworth. Tony had wanted to own his own salon for a long time and shares why franchising works so well for supporting first-time business owners who want to be their own boss.
Tell us about yourself – what did you do before becoming a Rush franchisee?
I’ve worked in the hairdressing industry for more than 11 years, working with Rush for five years. I’m passionate about hairdressing and very excited to be opening my salon in Wandsworth; I feel I have a lot to give and want to pass my knowledge on to my staff and clients.
Why did you decide to franchise with Rush?
I chose to own a salon with Rush because it’s a very good company! They encourage career progression and give you the opportunity succeed at your goals – in my case it was to have my own salon which is something that I’ve been meaning to do for a very long time! I’ve been with the company for several years and I like how they operate. I wanted to be part of Rush’s growth, they are a great brand to work for and I feel grateful to be part of it.There are so many areas they have covered that if I had gone independently it would have been so much harder, the support has been tailor made to suit me and my salon in Wandsworth.
How is the franchising process? What training and support have you received?
Training and support with Rush has been amazing, they really know what they are doing and everything has been very clear and I have been guided through each part step by step. It’s all done effectively in the right order, from marketing, to recruitment, to the training. They have gone through a business plan with me on how to maintain a successful salon and push it forward. There are so many areas they have covered that if I had gone independently it would have been so much harder, the support has been tailor made to suit me and my salon in Wandsworth.
Why did you choose Wandsworth for your new salon?
Wandsworth is a growing area with great potential, it’s a great time to be there and it’s close to me.
What advice would you give someone considering franchising?
Just do it, and be part of it, it’s the easiest way to get to be your own boss and start your business the right way with support. It’s perfect for anyone who is inexperienced in starting a business and doesn’t know where to begin so franchising is a great way to get you started. I’ve wanted to be my own boss and own my own salon for a long time. That’s really what has driven me to take on a Rush franchise, I am looking forward to Rush Wandsworth with great enthusiasm and passion.
