#A-Star Sports Forecasts To Score Significant Growth In 2014
With 15 UK-wide territories established and run by franchisees over the last two and a half years, A-Star Sports, judged as an impressive fastest-growing franchisor business, is aiming to secure 24 franchisees by the end of 2014.
The Flintshire-headquartered company, which specialises in sports coaching for youngsters aged two to 10, has already won a string of accolades for its entrepreneurial and communities-oriented approach, including, most recently, an accolade from Ingenious Britain as Small Business of the Month in January this year.
Director Sharon Bassett said: “Our franchisees come from a variety of backgrounds, including the banking and finance industry, general management, retail, joinery and childcare, as well as those with a traditional coaching background and a number who have been `home grown` as previous A-Star Sports coaches.
“The one thing they have in common is that they are passionate about sport and inspiring children to enjoy it for life.
“We have set ourselves a very ambitious target of securing a further nine franchisees by the end of the year to make a total of 24 but, such is the appeal of our franchise, not to mention the sheer fun of guiding youngsters into sport and fitness, that we expect to make that challenging target, just as we have beaten our previous growth targets over the last couple of years.
“In the last 10 months, we`ve been a finalist in two categories of the Franchise Marketing Awards for Best PR Campaign and Best Online Marketing Campaign, a finalist in the HP Smart Business Awards for our Community Support Programme and were chosen in July last year as an inaugural member of Lord Young`s ACCELERATE 250.”
It doesn’t stop there: after coaching with two A-Star Sports` co-founders in Chester for a number of years, April 2014 will see the launch of a 16th A-Star Sports franchise in Northwich, Knutsford and Runcorn run by Kyle Taylor.
“There’s such a buzz around our business at the moment. Franchise enquiries are up by 50% on last year and it is an exciting time to be delivering sports direct to families for this crucial age group.”
