#Computer Xplorers franchise sets up Big Bugs holiday club for children

Leading ICT education franchise for children, Computer Xplorers, held a holiday club at Springfield School, Witney in Oxfordshire during half-term. The highlight of the programme was extra big bugs and large hairy hornets. The owners of the franchise, Andrew and Nicola Petty, used digital microscopes to scrutinise flora and fauna.

The programme involved Computer Xplorers teaching children from 10-16 years to perform experiments, analyse specimens and reach conclusions. Children also learnt to make works of art during the Microscopic World class. Tim Walker, acting deputy head teacher, said that as children love using computers, working with Computer Xplorers helped in improving their knowledge and skills.

Springfield is dedicated to teaching children that have learning difficulties and the holiday club has been set up after parents identified the requirement for better school services. Computer Xplorers has classes for children between the ages of 3 and 13 that are inspirational and fun. They are also designed to improve the learning skills of children of the various abilities and ages.

With funding from the Aiming High for Disabled Children Programme from Oxfordshire County Council, the school managed to get the franchise to help the school. This is the first time Computer Xplorers were working with a school that caters to children with learning difficulties.
