#Dream Doors Opens New Showroom In Surrey

Horley Mayor Welcomes Innovative New Business to the Town
Founded in the late 90s, and based on an idea that would challenge traditional kitchen companies, Dream Doors has grown into a 40-strong network of franchised showrooms. The latest branch – Surrey`s third Dream Doors showroom – is owned by husband and wife team, Ian & Julie Turnbull, and trades from the busy Victoria Road. The showroom was opened earlier this month with the help of Town Mayor and Chairman of Horley Town council, Simon Marshall, who praised both the Turnbulls and Dream Doors founder, Troy Tappenden, for bringing the company`s kitchen makeover concept to the town.

“It`s wonderful to see a new, and genuinely different, business open in Horley,” said councillor Marshall. “It`s encouraging for the area, and I wish Ian, Julie and the team all the best with their new venture.”

“There`s a brilliant idea behind this business too,” he said. “There`s absolutely no need to dispose of kitchen units, which are clearly built to last, but I didn`t realise you could get such quality materials and have them fitted onto your existing cupboards in just a day. The fact that the doors are made in the UK is an added bonus, as it`s great to see local companies supporting British manufacturing. We would certainly have something like this in our own home, so I`m sure there will be huge demand from around the area.”

Dream Doors is the UK`s largest kitchen facelift retailer with showrooms in cities as far away as Exeter and York. The Turnbulls operate as Dream Doors Surrey and Sussex and offer residents of Horley, Crawley, Redhill, Reigate and Dorking – in fact, anyone who`s home is prefixed by a RH postcode – the brand`s cost-cutting kitchen makeover service.

While employing a local father-and-son fitting team to handle the installations, the Turnbulls utilise their sales and management skills, meeting customers in their showroom or visiting them at home to help plan the kitchen refurbishment. With hundreds of door combinations to choose from, as well as worktops, sinks and state-of-the-art appliances, Ian is confident there isn`t a home in the region that wouldn`t benefit from a makeover of some sort. “We can swap the doors or the worktops in a day, or both in two. We can add new units, or sinks and taps, and we supply everything from an integrated coffee machine to a carousel that gives easy access to corner cupboards. The possibilities are endless – we even sell bespoke bedroom doors!”

“Once Julie and I decided we really did want to start our own business, we set out for the franchise exhibition in Birmingham. We`d already researched Dream Doors, and were impressed by their website, the awards they`d received, and what we knew about them locally. Once we met, we were equally impressed by the enthusiasm demonstrated by Troy and his team.”

“Further research proved what a reputable organisation Troy has built. We met a couple of franchisees – whose individual success confirmed what we`d been shown at head office – one of whom was in Kingston which is very close to where we live. In fact, that was the only downside; we wanted to be a part of Dream Doors so much that, because our local franchise was already gone, we had to buy an area 45 minutes from home!”
