Driver Hire, the specialist transport and logistics recruiter and leading franchisor, has been named as one of the best workplaces in the UK.
It was ranked 51st in the ‘Medium Business’ category of the Great Place to Work® annual list of the best workplace cultures, published in The Guardian on 4th May.
With a network of 104 offices in the UK, Driver Hire supplies staff – mainly commercial vehicle drivers – to logistics operators. Annually its franchisees fulfil nearly a million shifts a year working with a wide variety of both local and national businesses and organisations.
Great Place to Work® has been measuring the health and success of UK workplaces since 2000. In its debut entry, Driver Hire was recognised for its strong workplace culture of integrity and respect, commitment to staff welfare, rigorous hiring procedures and employee engagement and development.
Chris Chidley, chief executive of Driver Hire, said: “We are incredibly proud of our business and our people, and we make a concerted effort to engage our employees to make sure they are too. Our most recent staff survey showed that 93 per cent of Driver Hire employees are proud to work here.
“Our network has seen significant growth over the past few years, and recently reported a turnover of more than £100m – our fourth successive year of record trading. Our people are at the very heart of this success and our reputation as an industry leader. They provide outstanding service to customers, candidates and our franchisees, taking pride and care in the work they do. To be recognised as one of the UK’s Great Places to Work® is a great accolade for the positive culture we aim to foster.”
