##Edwards Finds Driver Hire Franchise Very Arresting
A former police officer, Tom Edwards, is the newest recruit to Driver Hire’s 100-strong office network. He has just completed the purchase of the specialist recruiter’s Maidstone & Medway franchise.
Running a [Driver Hire recruitment business](/archive/driver-hire-nationwide/driver-hire-franchise.php) is not Edwards’ first foray into self-employment. Prior to working as a front-line officer for Sussex Police, he managed a cafe franchise.
“I enjoyed the challenge of running my own business and was keen to get back into it,” said Edwards. “I researched the franchise sales market and found Driver Hire. The more I looked into it, the more I could see that this was a well-structured business. In addition, I’d also had some past experience in the road transport industry, so it was a natural fit.”
Driver Hire’s network covers the whole of the UK. Its 100 offices supply temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to both local and national businesses. They help when customers need extra staff to deal with holidays, illness, peak trading periods or business expansion.
As well as the core recruitment business, over the coming months Edwards will be adding additional services to his roster. These include industry essential Driver CPC training and ‘dh Licence Check’, Driver Hire’s increasingly popular online licence checking service.
“The Driver Hire business model gives me every opportunity to succeed,” said Edwards. “There are a whole host of opportunities for me to grow the business further. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
Edwards will be working alongside long-standing members of staff Jane Latter and Heidi Davies.
